£0 remaining for a washing machine
G, a lady who is registered blind, has had a difficult life, but has managed to raise two daughters. Life became a lot worse a year ago when her husband lost his job due to mental health problems. One of the daughters has become their carer, and the other daughter struggles with addiction issues and is in and out of hospital. On top of everything, their washing machine has broken down beyond repair. Christians Against Poverty is helping this family sort out their debts and your gift will help them to get back on track again.
This single mum attended our foodbank and spoke with our advisor. Mum and her eighteen month old son have just been allocated their first property. Currently managing on benefits, she hopes to soon get a job again. This lady has been very proactive in looking at different ways to afford things, but now she is living alone and is feeling the stress of the financial burden that comes with that. £200 would enable her to choose a sofa and cushions that suit their needs and makes it feel more like home.
S moved into a council property on her own in July this year, having previously been homeless. However, when she moved into the property, it was unfurnished and, as S is on a low income and has various health issues, she has had difficulty affording to furnish it. Your support towards a wardrobe would really help her.
This lady is single with an eleven year old son. They have lived in a one-bedroom property for years, but have now been allocated a two bedroom property. They both have health issues and are both on disability benefits. The property comes with laminate flooring, but mum is worried about it being cold. Her son has also outgrown his bed, which I know is far too small for him. It would be really helpful if she could have your support to buy him a new bed.
