£0 remaining for two adjustable stairgates and one adjustable fireguard
This applicant is a Ukrainian mother whose child is now one year old and has started to walk. Their host does not earn a lot of money and the Ukrainian mother is on Universal Credit. Neither has enough money to purchase the safety equipment they now need, as the baby has started to walk. They also need a fireguard for the open fire, as the host cannot afford to keep the central heating on all of the time relying on the fire for background heat. They need the stairgates as the baby is mobile.
B and a trusted family companion fled Ukraine, due to the war, and stayed initially with a British family. They have just moved into a Housing Association two-bedroom home, but are in urgent need of carpets throughout. Both are working part-time shifts as much as possible and are not currently on benefits or ill health support. Any help to make their home comfortable during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
This request is for a family who are living on Universal Credit so have a very low income. They only have two plates and sets of cutlery which they need to keep washing up to take it in turns to eat. They also have no microwave and only one pan to use to cook. We would love to help this family to have a more functional kitchen set up with a suitable amount of equipment, including a microwave, kettle and toaster, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, utensils and tea towels.
