£0 remaining for a bed
M is living in a three bedroom flat. Until recently, she managed to accommodate four children, three girls and one boy, but now her eleven year old daughter, who was living with her father in another city, has come to join them. M has no financial support for this extra child, and, of most immediate concern, has no bed for her so mum and daughter are having to share a bed. They have an urgent need for help to buy a single bed.
We are working with a local school to support a mum of two who is in both financial hardship and emotionally challenging circumstances. Mum is struggling to make her money cover her needs and is shopping at our community grocery. Her washing has broken and she doesn't have the money to replace it. Your support will make a big difference in enabling her to wash the family's clothing.
W, a single mum with two children aged nine and six years old, is asking for help to buy a bed for her young son. She has had to stop working, due to serious physical heath problems, and is still waiting for a Universal Credit payment. W also has debts, but is seeking help from Debit Counselling. The child's bed is broken and the mattress is unusable, which makes sleep very difficult as they are sharing a bed. Finances are such that W is unable to see a way forward, and is as hoping that you can please help. Thank you.
B, who has two young children, has come to Christians Against Poverty (CAP) for debt help and is in a difficult situation. Her husband recently left her. B has no income as she is not a British citizen and she is trying to apply for a visa. We are helping her through CAP to look at her options for the future, but in a practical way, her children could do with new clothes and shoes. Thank you for noticing this request.
