Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
DD, a Hungarian national who is currently rough sleeping, is quite vulnerable and is looking to get into accommodation as soon as possible, but is facing barriers because he does not have any valid ID. He is wanting to apply for a passport so that he can get accommodation and can travel to see his family, as he has not seen them for many years. DD cannot afford this passport at the moment, as he is currently on benefits and is using these benefits to pay for essentials such as food and clothes.

Total needed £70K has had to move out of private rented accommodation with her three children, due to major damp and water ingress issues which were so bad they caused a small electrical fire. The council has rehomed them, but they have to start from scratch, including replacing their clothes, due to the damp and mildew. There are no white goods in the accommodation and there is no money to reach all that needs to be covered. A cooker and a washing machine has already been sourced, but K is still in need of a fridge freezer.

Total needed £200This single mum is living at home with her little girl and is trying to rebuild her life after struggling with substance misuse. She has been engaging so well with support, and is trying to get on top of the home conditions. Mum is struggling financially and is really behind with her washing so is feeling overwhelmed. She would love a tumble dryer, as the flat that she is in is very unhygienic and damp. This would mean she can quickly and safely dry the clothes, keeping them from smelling damp. Thank you for your support.

Total needed £200Safe Families are supporting a twenty three year old auntie who has taken responsibility for her four nieces. She has been offered a new property, but doesn't have any white goods. This lady is struggling financially and would like a tumble dryer due to the high amount of washing her four nieces accumulate over the week; especially their school uniform that often needs washing and drying more than once a week. They do not have adequate drying space or an outside area. Please could you help? Thank you.

Total needed £200This gentleman, who is fifty eight years old, suffers with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and is unable to work. He has been homeless and sofa surfing for the last three years, but has now, happily, been offered his own flat. This gentleman has none of the essentials to set up home and so needs pots, pans, cutlery, a bin, a toaster, tea towels, towels and bedding. He is so happy to be given the chance of a settled home and would be very grateful for any help that you could give.
