Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £180Our client, A, is fifty two years old and sadly suffered a terrible sexual assault in his own home. He cannot bear to sleep in his bed and the police have taken all his bedding for forensic examination. He now suffers with his mental health and is sleeping on his sofa. Our client's support worker feels that if the room was changed and he had a new bed and bedding, this would help him enormously. Our client only receives benefits, as he had to give up work and cannot afford to replace these items. Please could you help him have a fresh start?

Total needed £200Our applicant, who has multiple physical and mental health difficulties, recently lost her son, who was her only family support. Due to her mobility difficulties, she is being moved to a bungalow, but as she is on an extremely low income and doesn't have enough to live on, she is unable to afford any white goods. Our applicant's current washing machine has broken down and a replacement would be invaluable. Any donations to enable her to secure a new machine would be gratefully appreciated.

Total needed £200JH is an elderly gentleman who receives Pension Credit. He recently moved into a ground floor flat, due to being bullied by his private landlord and his health issues. He did purchase a second-hand cooker, but it does not work and the person he bought it from is not answering his calls. JH, who has numerous health issues and has had a recent diagnosis of bowel cancer, needs a cooker to cook healthy meals, but has no family to help.

Total needed £200S is a mum of two children and also a carer to her mum who has been in a coma in the hospital for the past few months. S has been unable to work, due to the commitments of looking after her mum as well as the children when they are back from school. She goes to the hospital four times a week, which is out of the area. This has been really costly for her, as sometimes she needs a taxi from hospital to get to the kids school for pick up on time. Please could you help us to supply a bus pass and train tickets for a month and food vouchers?

Total needed £200C, who has three adult children, has been plunged into debt through ill health, mixed with varying work patterns, which has meant she has had several overpayments of benefits. She has had to repay this on only the most basic income. During this time, C's garden has become a dumping ground for old electrical items and other rubbish. It would remove a little bit of misery if her garden was cleared, whilst Christians Against Poverty helps her deal with the bigger financial pressures.

Total needed £150D, who has had significant illness and loss over the last few years, lives alone and has been battling cancer. This year she spent six months in hospital and, once home, needed carers and has now been given a bill for this care of nearly £900. D has paid most of this bill, but still owes £180. She has no money to pay the rest, as she has debts for rent, and due to the hospital stay and her benefits stopping, risks losing her home. We are helping D at the foodbank and are seeking to support her back to financial stability.

Total needed £180E, a single mum to two teenagers, is getting used to relying on benefits after a string of bad luck. She had three people drive into her within two weeks of starting a new, well paid job. This has left her with physical and emotional health difficulties. The car was also written off, which left her unable to travel to work, meaning she lost her job and can no longer afford the repayments on her debts. E is working with us to mange her money and get back into work. Please can you help us support her over Christmas with a food voucher and utilities?
