Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
Our client, I, is twenty eight years old and a mum to two children. She works part-time around the school hours, as she feels It's important to teach the children a good work ethic, plus working gives her a sense of independence. Universal Credit pays her rent and tops-up her wages, but this still leaves little left for household items. Mum has no wardrobes for the children and really struggles for storage, causing chaos in the bedroom. She has asked for support with a wardrobe and small chest of drawers. Please can you help?

Total needed £200Our applicant, who has multiple physical and mental health difficulties, recently lost her son, who was her only family support. Due to her mobility difficulties, she is being moved to a bungalow, but as she is on an extremely low income and doesn't have enough to live on, she is unable to afford any white goods. Our applicant's current washing machine has broken down and a replacement would be invaluable. Any donations to enable her to secure a new machine would be gratefully appreciated.

Total needed £200K has had to move out of private rented accommodation with her three children, due to major damp and water ingress issues which were so bad they caused a small electrical fire. The council has rehomed them, but they have to start from scratch, including replacing their clothes, due to the damp and mildew. There are no white goods in the accommodation and there is no money to reach all that needs to be covered. A cooker and a washing machine has already been sourced, but K is still in need of a fridge freezer.

Total needed £200This single mum is living at home with her little girl and is trying to rebuild her life after struggling with substance misuse. She has been engaging so well with support, and is trying to get on top of the home conditions. Mum is struggling financially and is really behind with her washing so is feeling overwhelmed. She would love a tumble dryer, as the flat that she is in is very unhygienic and damp. This would mean she can quickly and safely dry the clothes, keeping them from smelling damp. Thank you for your support.
