Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

M is an older lady who works part time and is in receipt of Universal Credit. Due to mobility issues she had to reduce her working hours. She has been in very unsuitable unfurnished temporary accommodation for a number of years but has now been offered the opportunity to move to sheltered housing. She will need to buy white goods and other furniture but has no savings and is also burdened with overdrafts and credit card debt. Can you help M to purchase some essentials for her new home?

Total needed £200A is a single mum of three children whose violent husband was removed by Social Services. He left her with large rent arrears that, with Christians Against Poverty's help, she is tackling, but mum needs help paying her bills. Your donation will help her top-up A's electricity and gas for the winter, and a small part will go towards her phone bill.

Total needed £200G, who has been ill with various illnesses that have come about as a result of poor accommodation, has to be careful about which jobs he applies for because he cannot do strenuous work. He has felt let down in the past and now that he has found organisations that are supporting him, he is looking to the future. G's debts are now nearly under control, but he is finding it hard without a working mobile phone. Please can you support him with £90 for a Smart phone so that he can keep up to date with emails, job searches and finances? This would be a huge help to G and give him a much better quality of life.

Total needed £90Struggling financially on a deficit budget, with two children who have learning needs, this family is seeking help. The youngest is wetting the bed every night and, although measures are in place, is still causing the bedding to be changed daily. Buying waterproof bedding and a new mattress would help long-term, causing less damage and an ability for everything to be washed or wiped down. These are additional items which remain unaffordable for this family, but would bring a relief of stress.

Total needed £180J, who lives on her own and receives benefits, is subject to the benefit cap, due to high rent. She has managed to maintain her rent, but it leaves her with very little to live on and she has to use food banks for support. J has multiple health problems and is currently not putting her heating on as she can't afford to top-up, so is very cold. She isn't able to have a washing machine so has extra costs for this as well. Your support to assist her with a food voucher and heating would be really helpful to her.

Total needed £150F, who is single and lives on his own in a council flat, recently lost his job and is living on a very tight budget. He receives Universal Credit, however, this leaves him with only £20 to live on after bills have been paid. F heavily relies on a foodbank to get his groceries, due to how little he has left. His bed has broken and he cannot afford to replace it. Your support with £175 will help him to buy a replacement. Please can you kindly help with this donation?

She has now been offered a flat where she will have her own room, but currently doesn't have a bed so is in need of a double bed and mattress.
