Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
Y has complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) and has been suffering for twenty years with the symptoms. They received a diagnosis around seven years ago and, unfortunately, medication hasn't helped. They know therapy would be very helpful for them, have been on a waiting list and have finally accessed a service who are able to supply them with specialised therapy at a reduced rate. Y is going to be paying half of this weekly rate and the remainder with this donation. This amount will provide counselling for forty weeks.
Still £100 left to donate
Total needed £200R, who has been engaging with us for the past two years, has completed his coffee training and certification and now has a part-time job in a church café. He was living in a homeless hostel for over two years and has recently been able to move into a flat. R is starting to look at other jobs, and a passport for ID would be really helpful. Although he is working part time, he does not have income to support this, on top of sorting his flat and day-to-day expenses.
Still £60 left to donate
Total needed £130L, who has been engaging with us for the past six months, was referred by a friend and has been attending our Barista training programme. He has been very quick to learn the new skills and is now going to complete a voluntary placement with a local café. L would like to complete his external certification.
