N is a single parent, on benefits, with 2 young children, one of whom has special needs. She has recently moved house and had to get rid of her old sofa as it was ripped. She would love a replacement so that she and the children can sit down together, but would need help to afford this.
S is a single mother of a thirteen year old child. She receives Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and low rate Disability Allowance. She had a flood in her council property in the heavy rains due to an ill-fitting door. She had to replace carpets and sofa and now the washing machine too has broken down. She has no money left to replace it and could not afford insurance on her income.
This young family are just about managing with the dad obtaining temporary work where he can, whilst mum suffers from epilepsy. Sadly, their tumble dryer has just packed up and they simply do not having savings they can use for this. They would be most grateful for any assistance. Thank you.
E and her partner have a 6 week old baby, they are currently drying all their clothes inside their flat which is starting to cause some damp issues. E has quite severe mental health issues and there is no launderette in the local area where they can take their clothes to dry and neither parent drive. The partner is now full time carer for her and their baby and they are struggling financially therefore unable to buy a dryer.
After being homeless for nearly a year, this single mother now is going into her own accomodation with her children.. She needs a cooker as there are no cooking facilities there. She is unable to work due to depression and epilepsy. Stress can induce the seizures and she is trying so hard to lessen her stress because of this. This is a real turning point for this young family to make a new start.
