L is one of our clients. She is a single parent of three teenage girls. Her small self-employed business folded due to the pandemic. This has affected her mental health. She has large debts and is motivated to try to clear them. She has managed to find a low paid job but she is furloughed. L is struggling with drying laundry as her dryer is broken. £150 towards the cost of a dryer replacement would make a huge difference to L and her family and would be greatly appreciated.
J suffers with long term mental & physical health problems and does not have a table or chair at home. We recently supported J with a disability benefits tribunal and were sad to hear that he needed to sit on the floor to go through his paperwork despite suffering from chronic back pain. We would like to support J to purchase a small table & 2 chairs for his flat, he has been living on a low income for a long time due to a reduction in his benefits & has been unable to afford this himself.
This single mother and her two children live on a low income. They have just moved house, but the house they have moved into is unfurnished. Her old landlord let her take some of his furniture to the new house, but a lot of it was very old and broke on the move. Your donation would go towards essential furniture, helping this family of three settle into their new home.
I have just spoken to the client who has been volunteering at the Lewisham foodbank. He originally had his own catering business in Peckham but lost his right to work as part of the Windrush investigation. He does not have funds for a lawyer to reinstate his rights in the UK. He is in need of a bed as he is staying in the property of a man he was caring for who has just died. He has very little furniture and would be so grateful for your help. Thank you for reading this.
C lives in shared accommodation after being homeless for some time. She has access to a communal fridge but other tenants take and use her food. She is on welfare benefits and can’t afford to keep replacing all the food items that go missing. Having her own fridge freezer will enable her to keep to her budget and to eat fresh foods and maintain a healthy diet. The ability to control her budget and food will be of great help for C to continue moving forward to a better future.
I have recently posted a request for this client who has been volunteering at the Lewisham foodbank. He originally had his own catering business in Peckham but lost his right to work as part of the Windrush investigation. He has been caring for a man with dementia. He is in need of a bed (posted in the last request) and this request is to help with assembly of the frame which he can't do and also a mattress of course for a comfy sleep. Thank you so much if you are reading this.
