This request has come through Christians Against Poverty working with a lady who has problems with debts and a very bad back which is ongoing. She would like help to purchase a sofa that will give support to her back and enable her to invite her daughter to her home without feeling the constant distraction of not being able to relax and give quality time which is much needed.
C is fleeing domestic violence and has been housed in an unfurnished flat. As it is temporary accommodation she is not eligible for most grants to provide some of the basics to allow her to live there. There are concrete floors and she has very young children and no appliances in the kitchen. We would like to be able to buy them a cooker from a local furniture project to enable them to cook meals.
This lady has been the victim of a sexual assault which has caused severe mental health problems. She has 3 children to look after and is being supported by a specialised support worker who has noted that there is no flooring in the house. We would really like to be able to help this family.
This 49 year old female is a client of the Sue Lambert trust. She has been struggling without an oven for some time and would like to be able to cook her daughter a Christmas lunch. She is a lady who has experienced significant trauma in her life and struggles with her mental health. She is in receipt of benefits and has struggled for several months trying to appeal a lesser award and a sanction, which has left her on a very low income and a great deal of stress. Any help would be much appreciated.
