This client was referred to us by his tenancy support worker seeking assistance towards a bed. He and his partner separated after 16 years and he found himself in a position where he was at risk of homelessness. He applied to the council and they have housed him but he has no essential household items. He receives universal credit and has no way of saving for the items himself. He would really appreciate any help to set up his new home.
K is requesting help to get a tumble dryer. She is a pensioner and in receipt of pension credit. K has no funds available to get a dryer. She is a much valued volunteer for Hope Nottingham.
This young woman is a lone parent with two young children. She has recently fled an abusive relationship and has been rehoused into an unfurnished tenancy. She is in receipt of benefits and has limited means of purchasing items for her new home. Without a fridge she is having to shop daily to avoid wasting food, but this is expensive. I would be very grateful if you could consider contributing towards the cost of a fridge.
This lone parent with four children has recently moved area due to suffering from anti-social behaviour from their neighbours. The children all have mattresses but they have no bed bases which is problematic as their bedroom floors are not carpeted. The client cannot afford to buy bases from her benefit income, so I am hoping that you may be able to assist.
P is a pensioner who has been without a washing machine for over a year after it was condemned by a council worker. She has been struggling to take her washing to a launderette due to ill health. Her doctor has advised against this. Any help towards obtaining a washing machine would be really appreciated, thank you.
This 43 year old gentleman has been living in a homeless hostel with his 11 year old son since his marriage broke down. He has now been offered an unfurnished flat and is working hard to source the items needed to set up his new home. He is in receipt of universal credit which barely covers his essential costs. He is in desperate need of a bed for his son and would be most grateful to the donors if help could be given for this.
M has a low income from benefits due to chronic mental health difficulties. He is in debt but is addressing this with the support of Cornerstone debt advice. M does not have a bed at the moment and if you are able to help in any way he would be very grateful.
S's partner recently split up with him and took everything out of the house. He now only has a microwave for cooking, is on benefits and cannot afford a cooker. S suffers with polymyalgia. Any help with getting a cooker would be greatly appreciated.
L is a single parent with two children. She had a zero hours contract but has recently been in hospital. She is struggling financially. One of the things she is having problems with is damp, and the health visitor thinks it is caused by ventilation issues and wet clothes on radiators all the time. She thinks a tumble dryer would help. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks.
We have been supporting a mum with 4 children over the last 18 months. Three of the children have complex health needs and mum is really struggling to make ends meet. She is doing an amazing job but had another blow this week when the fridge broke. We have found a replacement for £105 and would love your support to help make her life that little bit easier.
