This 20 year old suffers from Miserable Malalignment Syndrome (MMS) and Patella Maltracking which causes his knee to overly invert, leaving him in considerable pain. His mobility is affected and he struggles to walk more than a few steps. He is having tests for suspected hereditary spastic paraplegia. He has a poor relationship with his mum so had to leave home and was sofa surfing until a tenancy was offered. He has a bed base but no mattress and cannot afford one as he is reliant on universal credit.
This 51 year old woman lives alone in her late mother's council tenancy and is struggling to make ends meet on universal credit. She has fibromyalgia and depression. Recently both her electric cooker and washing machine broke down and she cannot afford to replace them. A local charity has agreed to provide an electric cooker but she also needs a washing machine, as the launderette is four miles away and her mobility is not good. £120 would cover the cost of a reconditioned item.
This client has recently been discharged from prison after serving a 10 year sentence. He suffers from learning difficulties, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression and is in receipt of disability benefits. He has no literacy skills and has the functional skills of a 12 year old. He has just moved into an unfurnished tenancy and is in need of essential items which he cannot afford to purchase. He is in urgent need of a bed, so I would be grateful if you could consider helping him. Many thanks.
This elderly couple live in a council tenancy & their adult daughter & 2 grandchildren have recently moved in with them as they were made homeless. This is a stressful situation for the family which is exacerbated by the fact that there are concerns about whether the children are being adequately cared for. The household are in receipt of benefits and their washing machine has just broken. As they cannot afford to replace it I am hoping that you may be able to award a grant to help. Many thanks.
Miss D has recently moved into a new home with her 8 year old son. She has done a fantastic job and has managed to source lots of second hand items. The only thing she has been unable to get is a washing machine. She is currently washing her and her son clothes by hand including his school uniform. There is no launderette near by. She is on Universal credit and would be unable to buy brand new washing machine without help.
M's current washing machine leaks and she cannot use it. Her partner has seizures and wets the bed so she needs to wash bedding regularly. M has a limited amount of money as she is only on Employment Support Allowance and cannot therefore afford to buy a new washing machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
