W is retired. He suffers with arthritis in his knees. This means that his mobility is poor. His washing machine, which was twelve years old, recently broke and cannot be repaired. Travelling to the launderette is a huge effort for W given his health issues and is expensive to pay for. A generous donation towards a new washing machine would take a lot of stress away from him.
C is a single mum, who has been forced into unaffordable private rented accommodation due to the lack of availability of council housing. As such she has been subjected to the benefit cap and has a Council Tax bill that she cannot afford to pay. She is studying as well as caring for her two children and this would release a huge amount of pressure on her.
M. has been on long term sick leave and is unable to return to work due to complicated mental health issues. Since her sick pay finished at the beginning of December 2018 she has only received £42 in benefits. As a result she is in arrears with paying her water rates. A gift towards this would help her immensely, and remove some of the mental anxiety.
G. has been experiencing abuse from her son. He has been verbally abusive & caused criminal damage to her door. She needs to have it repaired as it is not secure. The son no longer lives with her and has been reported to the police and interviewed. G. is in receipt of universal credit but needs this basic money for her bills and essentials such as food. She would be very blessed with some help to repair her door, so she can feel secure again.
In the past J has been trying to support his family with their financial difficulties and after years of trying to support everyone else J has found himself in debt. He was hoping that he would be able to pay this money back but now he is 68 years old, retired and in poor health. After seeking debt advice J has decided to do a Debt Relief Order. A donation towards the fee would mean that J could become debt free and have a fresh start in life.
E.'s wife has MS and has no recourse to public funds. He has had to reduce hours to 2 days in order to look after her as she needs constant care. They have 2 children. He is on Universal Credit with some other benefits and has debts because of wife's illness and his having reduced hours of work. His microwave recently stopped working and they have no other means of cooking. They would be greatly helped with a gift towards buying one.
