Our client is an asylum seeker who knows very little English and is trying to learn conversational language skills to develop his integration into the community and ease his feelings of isolation. He is living off very limited weekly benefits, which aren’t enough to afford a regular and reliable internet connection, and all his English classes are online. Donations towards purchasing an internet connection would be so appreciated.
Our charity supports an asylum seeker, 54, struggling with mobility following a stroke and now living in a care home. He enjoys attending our charity’s weekly art sessions, befriending activities and English classes, as he has no other opportunities to meet people, calling them “a lifeline”. He cannot use public transport and needs specialist taxis with extra assistance which cost £30 a week. £150 would enable him to attend these “lifeline" sessions worry free for five weeks. Thank you.
