C is a thirty four year old single lady with significant physical (only a quarter lung function following pneumonia) and mental health needs. As a result of this, she found herself homeless and spent some time in a homeless hostel. C has engaged with support services and recently secured her own flat which she is making into a comfortable home for herself. This is a difficult time, due to her limited income of benefits, and C desperately needs a fridge freezer to help maximise her food budget and eat healthily.
A new client is attending our Anxiety Management Coaching sessions. He suffers with M.E. and his anxiety levels are high due to Covid restrictions. He is able to get a taxi to our centre for £7 and we can give him a lift home. Please consider covering this expense for twelve weeks? There is no direct bus route, and he is not able to walk this short distance due to fatigue. He has engaged well with his first session and we are confident he will benefit greatly from the support.
K is a forty year old single mum with three children. Tragically, she has been given less than six months to live due to terminal cancer. Due to an issue with her Universal Credit, K has no money to support her family this month. Please help us to provide her with grocery shopping vouchers to alleviate some of the financial pressures the family face while Citizens Advice resolve her Universal Credit issues. Thank you.
As a single parent with poor mental health and varying side affects from medication, this lady needs to be able to heat meals for herself and her young daughter quickly. A reliable kettle and a microwave will enable mum to make hot meals and drinks, even when feeling low or unwell. Mum is on a low income which she is struggling to manage. Being able to provide practical resources that will have an immediate impact, will relieve stress and encourage the family that they are cared for.
A is fifty five and lives alone. He used to be a self-employed builder, but was diagnosed with Urological Cancer in 2020. He was not able to work throughout 2021 as he had to have a number of cycles of Chemotherapy. The Chemotherapy is ongoing and he is worried that he may not be able to work again. He finds it hard to cope on benefits and he has debts which means he struggles to cover his daily living costs. Any help that you feel able to offer would be a great support to him.
S has recently moved into his own flat after sleeping rough. He's been diagnosed with cancer and his prognosis is five years. We are encouraging him to gain support from Macmillan for emotional help and advice around finances etc. He would like a hoover, saucepan and TV for his flat while his finances are getting organised. We would love to show him that there are people who care, and that he is valued, as he struggles with feelings of worthlessness since being abused at Boarding School.
This lady is due to have major surgery. She does not have a bed and cannot afford one, so has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This will not be suitable when she is discharged from hospital and her recovery time could be as long as six weeks. She is worried about the impact of her operation on her family. Supporting her with something practical allows her to keep her focus on her children, reminds her she is worth caring for, and enables a safe recovery.
