L is a single mother aged 39 who lives with her son aged 9. She has learning difficulties and is in receipt of benefits but can't work due to social anxieties, and finds it hard to socialise. Therefore although her son attends school regularly he can't see his friends outside of school. He enjoyed school clubs for football and rugby which were stopped due to Covid-19. He has said he would like to have some swimming lessons to boost his confidence and self esteem. Please help this family.
Recently, our client's wife passed away, and he has found life very hard to cope with. His children were taken into care and he lost his job, finding himself in absolute despair. With help of his support worker he is beginning to turn his life around. He has severe back problems and finds sleeping and mobility a problem, even though he is on strong pain relief. He has been advised to get an orthopaedic mattress to support his back and help him sleep better but he cannot afford it as he is waiting on benefits. Please could we help him ease some of the stresses of this difficult time?
