She is very concerned to be able to pay off something towards her rent arrears as she is otherwise facing eviction. Her son has mental health problems and needs the stability of familiar surroundings so she is also worried about the effect that it might have on him if they were forced to move. She would really appreciate any help.
C is a young woman living in a local authority flat and in receipt of Universal Credit. She currently has large deductions from her benefits each month, leaving her little for her everyday living costs. She is also getting into increasing debt with her rent, putting her at risk of eviction from her flat. Help towards her rent arrears would be greatly appreciated and would help to secure her tenancy.
G has recently found accommodation after living in a hostel for 6 months and living homeless before that. G's accommodation has been provided without any furniture and G's homelessness has meant that G cannot afford to buy essential items of furniture like a bed or chest of draws. G is asking for support to buy a bed, sofa, chest of draws, cutlery, crockery and a tv.
S has recently been given unfurnished accommodation. S had a drug addiction and was homeless for 18 months. Having stopped using drugs S has been working closely with a number of specialists who have enabled S to be housed. A has asked for support for some essential items of furniture. S is asking for support to buy a bed, a sofa, a table, 2 chairs, 3 sets of curtains and a chest of draws.
Miss Lazenby is 19 years old and this is her first tenancy with Guinness. She was previously living with her sister temporary and before this she was sofa surfing at friends. She is currently getting ESA £57.90 a week. she suffers from anxiety and depression and panic attacks. She was unable to live with her Mum due to her condition. She has managed to get a settee, TV Stand and Some Cabinets but would really benefit from some first home furniture to get started and make it her home
