J has been living in accommodation that has been condemned. Her landlord passed away over a year ago and there was nobody that would handle repairs or the general upkeep of the property. Because of this a lot of J's furniture has become damaged, mostly because of the leaking roof. J has now been given alternate accommodation but is not in a position to replace the damaged goods. She lives on benefits and is on a very low income.
F has been homeless for several months. She is hopeful of an offer of a flat in a couple of weeks and till then has the chance of renting a room at a low cost. She suffered a sexual assault which is now going to court but will involve making several trips to a town 30 miles away. To be able to rent the room would give her a bit of space to herself at a difficult time, but she doesn't have the money either for the rent or the train fares. She would be really grateful for help with these costs.
D has been known to us for several years now and her world was shattered when she lost her daughter in November. She has got into financial difficulties and is still living in a three-bedroom house. None of the upstairs rooms are carpeted and she is asking for help to be able to carpet her bedroom. We hope that Acts 435 donors can respond to her request. Many thanks.
P was 'kicked out' of his home 3 years ago by his wife. Since then he has been sofa surfing & living on the goodwill of his friends. He has been offered a sheltered bedsit so he can now have a more settled life. Can you help him please to buy a table top cooker, cooking utensils & some crockery? He has some serious health issues to deal with & being settled will help enormously, some of the issues are now life changing. Please help if you can. Thank you.
This lady was a previous client of Christians Against Poverty who worked hard to resolve her debts, and now has the opportunity to move closer to friends and family but doesn't want the cost of moving to put her back in debt. A little help to cover costs would give her the peace of mind and freedom from financial worry she has enjoyed since becoming debt free.
