P and his wife were in 3 bedroom social housing in Rye and had to pay the spare room subsidy for 2 excess rooms, which was deducted from housing benefit. Due to poor physical health neither can work and P is his wife's carer. They were forced to move by the Housing Association to a smaller property with the promise of financial help to get set up, but they only got £80 to pay for a van hire for removal. They have no savings to buy carpets and are seeking £120 to pay for some off cuts to put over the bare floors.
V is having to move because the owner of the flat she now resides want to sell ASAP. The money requested will help towards removal costs. V is a Christians Against Poverty Client and she is doing all she can to keep within the agreed budget. Moving was NOT one of the things she thought would happen, especially so quickly. She would be very grateful for your help.
