A is a single mum with two young boys. After living for some time in a one bedroom flat, this week she has finally moved into an appropriate sized council house. As is quite common, there is no flooring down in the property at all. She would like to have some carpet in her boys bedrooms. A is working with Christians Against Poverty to deal with her debts. As she only currently receives benefit income, things are very tight. Any help to make her new house a home would be greatly appreciated.
P is single and is escaping a domestic violence situation involving her own son. She is a client of Christians Against Poverty who are working with her to clear historical debt, but she is holding down a part time job supplemented by benefits. The local housing association has found her a new flat to give her a fresh start; this request is to help cover the removal costs and a couple of basic items needed for her new flat.
