Our client was housed by us shortly before Christmas after his current home was in a bad state of repair and overcrowded. He had returned to stay with relatives after leaving care but this didn't work out and he left with just a bag of clothes. Although we have helped to get the furniture for his house and some household items, he needs help to buy clothes after leaving his last house with only two outfits and also needs some items like a bin, mop etc to keep his house clean.
P has just moved into a new flat. He has been homeless for a while and has no money or any way to fund getting everything for his new house. He moved in yesterday and the property is very much an empty shell. Having some money to get the bare essentials would really help him to settle in to his new flat. P is grateful he has a roof over his head, but it would restore his dignity massively if he had the essentials which everyone should have access to e.g. carpets.
L has moved into her new home with her two children aged 3 and 5. Their furniture was in storage but their carpets couldn’t be saved after a fire at the property caused extensive water damage. L has no savings and is working with Christians Against Poverty in relation to some debts due to leaving the previous property, therefore she cannot afford carpets for their home. She has been quoted £500 by a local company, she has applied to 2 charities but needs this amount to cover the shortfall. Thank you for your help.
S has been homeless and sofa surfing for the last 3 years. Through the pandemic he was put in a hotel and he has now finally got his own place. We really want to make it homely and a place he can make his own and feel he can get a fresh start and build a good platform for his future. Money to go towards furniture would be a huge boost towards these goals.

D has just moved into permanent accommodation. She has been rough sleeping/sofa surfing for over 3 years and is absolutely thrilled that she now has her own place. D has already been out to look for furniture and carpets as she just wants to make her new flat feel as homely as possible. She would be so grateful if you could help towards the cost of some new carpets so she no longer has to walk on cold, concrete floors.
