A has just moved into her new flat with her daughter aged 4.The previous tenant had cats, and despite scrubbing the carpet, using a cleaner and sprays, the smell from their urine was intolerable so the carpet has been removed and disposed of. She needs a carpet and a local carpet store quoted her for a basic living room carpet and underlay. She has £100 saved towards it, but if this request was met, she could get the carpet fitted by the end of this month. Thank you.
This single Mum of 5 children would really appreciate help to purchase new living room flooring. The one they have is very worn and unclean and is not pleasant for the younger children to play on. Mum has previously struggled with her home conditions due to the demands of her children who also have additional needs, but this is something she is working and making progress on.
P, (from CAP) has done so well in the year since prison- finding paid work, settled accommodation and recovery from a long-term gambling habit. Sadly in the space of 3 months this has nearly all fallen apart, as succumbing to the temptation to place a £20 bet has led to £5,000 debt (part of which are these arrears) with pay-day loans, as the addiction rapidly got a grip again. P faces eviction, but the landlady will not evict if the requested amount is raised, matched by the a grant from the Vicars Relief fund.
