K, a young man with learning disabilities is applying for benefits and Personal Independence Payment. He is being supported by Croydon Churches Housing Association and other organisations. He would like to replace the old, mouldy refrigerator which came with the accommodation he moved into in March 2022. K has tried to clean the refrigerator, but it is in a bad state and the mould will not come off so it is not hygienic.
Our client has been refused status as an asylum seeker from Afghanistan, and evicted from his Home Office housing. He is currently homeless and in need of money for the absolute basics such as food, travel and phone credit so he can stay in contact with support services.
E lives with memory loss and mental health trauma. While street homeless, he lost his ID, which he needs to apply for work. He is now in a hostel, but needs new ID. The application fee is £132. A homeless charity has agreed to pay £30 towards this, but he needs the other £102. Please can you help E to get new ID? Without it he cannot get a job.
I had the pleasure of speaking to R this morning. He is a pensioner who has just been provided with permanent accommodation by Lewisham Council. The property is unfurnished and he only has a bed and TV at the moment. There is nothing in the kitchen and he would be very grateful to have a fridge freezer. This will make a great difference to him settling down in his new environment. Thank you so much for considering this request.

V was recently hospitalised having been found very unwell on the street. The UK did not recognise his nationality after he fled the 1998 Kosovo War. V is barred from employment and benefits by this bizarre legal limbo. Street homelessness is really taking a toll on his mental and physical health. We are working to establish V's status so he can rebuild his life. This process takes several weeks. In the meantime, please consider donating to support him with basic food and clothing.
