This client is a single parent with a 3 year old child. She became homeless not long after the baby was born following a family break up. Since then she has lived in a hostel for vulnerable women where she has received ongoing support with daily living skills and counselling regarding her diagnosed anxiety. She has now been deemed ready for independent living and has been offered an unfurnished flat. She is reliant upon Universal Credit so has no means of purchasing the essential goods needed.
This client has recently fled from a severe domestic violence incident. The perpetrator is currently on police bail awaiting trial. The client and her children were initially moved to a Women's Aid hostel and have now been offered a Housing Association property in a totally new area. She is in receipt of universal credit and child benefit so has very little income and is struggling to set up her new home. She currently has nowhere to store fresh food so your help with this would be so appreciated.
