J is moving into an empty flat and needs to equip it with a fridge, freezer, cooker and washing machine. He is currently on benefits and therefore does not have the income to purchase them himself. Any help would be appreciated.
Mum has recently moved to Derby having fled from a controlling man who smuggled her into the country when she was pregnant. She is making some brave decisions that will improve her and her son’s future but currently is living on a tiny income. She and her son need clothes and bedding and whilst they have been given some second hand items, we would like to boost her self esteem by getting her some new items as well.
This lady became homeless a year ago when she separated from her childrens' father. He left home and she could no longer afford the rent as her job of hotel chambermaid pays a very low wage. She lived in a hostel with her 3 children until finally being rehoused a few weeks ago. Since their separation her ex was diagnosed with terminal cancer which has devastated the family. She is caring for him whilst trying to set up her new home. Money is very tight so your help would be most appreciated.
This gentleman has just been rehoused after being long term homeless. He is in poor health after several years of rough sleeping and is in constant pain from slipped discs in his back. He suffers from associated depression and anxiety. He is thrilled at finally having his own home but is struggling to furnish it as he is dependent upon disability benefit. He is unable to access the launderette due to poor mobility so your help towards the cost of a washing machine would be most appreciated.
Z is on income support. Her flat was flooded from water from the flat above. This has ruined everything in her flat and she has no money to replace goods. Please could you help in any way. Thank you.
This client was referred to us by a housing enablement officer. He has depression and a personality disorder and has been in hospital for some time. He had been homeless and a potential suicide risk. His marriage had broken down and he had no family that he could stay with. He has now moved in to a council tenancy but does not have the items he needs for his home. He is in receipt of Employment and Support Allowance so has no spare funds. A cooker would help his physical and emotional wellbeing.
We are supporting a mum and her 4 children. They have finally been able to move into a new home that is suitable for her oldest daughter who has cerebral palsy. She has done so much herself to make their new house a home; all the decorating and carpeting but currently she is cooking for the whole family using a microwave and slow cooker and really needs an oven. We have found a refurbished one for £120 and would love to get this for her and the family.
