This young man was brought up in care. He and his partner have been trying to make a go of things financially but have faced many hurdles. He lost his job due to the Covid-19 pandemic and, until recently, his partner, who has a heart condition, was having to shield. Debts have accumulated and they came to Christians Against Poverty for help. The best solution for him would be a Debt Relief Order but they are unable to afford the £90 fee. He told me that it would be a huge relief if you could help.
K and M have 3 small children. Both work hard in low income jobs. Sadly K, a mechanic, was furloughed at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown and was subsequently made redundant. M is working 50 hours a week to make ends meet. As a result of job searching and benefit delays K and M are unable to repay nursery fees. M is currently in the interview process for another job. If we are able to help them with these arrears they won't end up in debt.
