This client is a widow who lives alone, she has a range of health conditions including bronchiectasis, asthma, arthritis and high blood pressure. This requires her to self isolate during the Covid-19 pandemic as she is highly vulnerable. She is in receipt of Universal Credit and some income from her husband's pension, but her income is still low and she is struggling to make ends meet. She lives in an area of high rates of anti social behaviour which is making her feel more isolated.
M and H have seen services for ongoing health care issues cut in their area due to the pandemic. M has 7 stenoses in 3 regions of his back and H had a knee replacement 10 years ago, and has hip and pelvis issues. They are on a low income due to disabilities, and are now paying towards physio and podiatry, previously provided by the NHS. This couple consistently give out to others without ever asking for themselves, I would love to be able to help them in their time of need as they do so many others.
Mr A was previously homeless living in a hostel. He does work but his hours have severely reduced due to Covid-19. He now has secured his first tenancy but has no furniture at all to move in and make this a home - his local authority are no longer offering any assistance. He has no friends and family and we are working with him to apply on his behalf for help making his home more liveable. He would be very grateful to receive any help at all.
