This client is a lone parent on a low income, he is in receipt of Universal Credit and Child Benefit which only just covers his essential daily outgoings. He suffers from epilepsy, depression and anxiety. He has to wash his daughter's school uniform every day due to COVID-19 but is not able to dry them in time most days, meaning his daughter sometimes has to wear damp clothing. The family have been victims of harassment and he is concerned that this may mark his daughter as a target for bullies.
This lady's landlord evicted them during the pandemic, and despite desperate attempts to find alternative accommodation, she and her adult disabled son, have been unable to be re-homed and have now been moved to emergency accommodation. They are desperate to keep as many of their possessions as possible (they left lots) and we have several services involved in helping them. Could you help them pay for 1 month's storage of their things at a local storage company while we try to rehome them?
