C is a single Mum with a 6 year old son. On Sunday due to torrential rain, their house flooded with rain water and raw sewage. They have had to move out and lost everything. They didn't have contents insurance as they just couldn't afford it. They access our foodbank. We are helping them to furnish their temporary social housing studio and with clothing for her son, but Mum needs some basic clothing too. They are having to rebuild their lives. Any help much appreciated.
S is a single Mum in temporary accommodation. Her daughter is due to start school in September. She has been saving to buy her uniform but needs some help with school shoes. Mum works 5 hours per week while her daughter is at nursery and is hoping to increase this when she is at school. She has been left short of money as her council tax was wrongly calculated by the council and she now owes them some money, which she is paying back monthly. Mum is really trying her best to be independent.
M is a single Mum who's daughter is starting school in September. Mum has been in and out of hospital and is classified as vulnerable health wise. She has some support from her family, but has had to spend any spare money on taxi fares to hospital appointments, as she cannot travel on buses, due to infection risk. Some of her wider family have helped her get some uniform for her daughter but she is struggling to fund shoes and trainers ready for September. Any help is appreciated.
