This lady has been awarded a flat for her and her toddler; she is on a low income supplemented by benefits. She has searched social media etc to furnish her home at prices she can afford and has been helped by her family. The main thing she needs that she cannot afford is a cooker so that she can cook for herself and her child. This lady is working hard to provide for her child and said that she does not want to have to rely on take-away or other junk foods.
R is a father of a young child and their fridge freezer has broken down. He is currently looking for work and his partner is on maternity leave. They have found one but don't have the funds to purchase right now.
K and her two children have been moved from a Refuge into a very small one bedroom house. There is not enough room for 3 beds, so she would like a triple bunk to accommodate them all. She has had a tough time, as a victim of domestic violence she has been in multiple refuges and has been housed now but with nothing. When we met them they had been living in the house 3 weeks with just 1 single mattress and no other furniture.
C's garden fence panels are broken. The garden backs onto a busy area so she is currently trying to plug the gaps with broken pallets in an effort to make a safe environment for her young family. Without the fence there are also issues with the neighbours pets.
A single dad, J has studied and qualified to become a gardener. He would like to start his own business to enable him to work flexible hours to fit in around his sons. To make this possible he needs help to make an initial purchase of some gardening tools.
