J is a young single mother who was in an abusive relationship and has just been supported to leave it. She has been disowned by her family as she has disgraced them by daring to leave an arranged marriage. J is on anti-depressants and lives with her son who is 2 years old. Her benefits have been delayed by two months and she owes everyone around her money. She has been offered a flat. We have managed to get her other basics and she now needs a washing machine.
This young family where referred to us by the local council after the mother had her benefits stopped. She had recently started work but will not be receiving any income until after 6 weeks due to a trial period with a 0 hour contract. Unfortunately her benefits were stopped and she now has no income. She is in desperate need of support to help pay immediate bills and buy food for her children.
The client was referred to us after finding himself unable to keep up his monthly bill payments. He has various payment plans in place but due to sickness and failure to attend a meeting his benefits where stopped. They have now been reinstated, however this has had a knock on effect with his bills. The arrears have mounted up over the past few weeks and he is now struggling to make ends meet. This support would enable him to get back on track and make all the neccesary payments.
