Citizens Advice are currently assisting this single lady in her forties with benefits claims. She suffers with severe mental health issues which are disrupting her daily life. They have asked us for help because she has hardly any furniture or white goods in her house which is also in need of repairs. She is particularly vulnerable and in need of support. Just having a fridge to start off with will make a big difference in her mental health and well-being.
This 53 year old lady has neuropathy and poor mobility. She has been in hospital for 6 weeks and has been discharged home with support. Her standard rate of care has been stopped on personal independence payment and her husband's carers allowance has also ceased due to being in hospital. As a result they have no money as the universal credit recently received has been used up. They have no gas or electric on the meter and would be most grateful for any support to top up so that they can keep warm.
This vulnerable adult who suffers from mental health issues has recently befriended a lady who started exploiting him financially and ruling over him both physically and emotionally. During this time his mental health and management of both his home and finances has deteriorated into crisis point. The lady has been removed, and subsequently he had his washing stolen off the washing line (crime reported) leaving him with very few clothes. It would help him greatly to have some warm winter clothes.
This single dad and his son who are both considered vulnerable are struggling with the cost of electricity due to the cost of Economy 7. Dad is on a limited income which he uses to support himself and his son as he is not in receipt of any other benefit to provide for the child. He is now down to £2 emergency and does not have the funds to top up his meter and is concerned that he and his son will not have electricity for tonight. We don't believe anyone should be left in the cold, Thank You.
This single lady moved out of supported housing a year ago. She is working, so isn't in receipt of benefits. She moved to an unfurnished property and was saving up to get carpets for the property. Sadly her Mum passed away very unexpectedly and she has had to pay the funeral bill (which she is still paying off). This means she hasn't been in a position to pay for any carpet- any help towards this would be very gratefully received and helpful at a difficult time.
