Young single lady of 22 years old is pregnant and moving into supported housing after being sofa surfing for some time. She has put in a claim for Universal Credit and is waiting payment, and has spent all the money she has moving in. It's a new start for her and it will make all the difference to her to have a nice warm place to live.
This middle aged single man, moving into a new flat after difficult times, has used all his money on moving in and is struggling to manage. He has been helped by the local food bank, but has no means of cooking. He says he would manage with a microwave and a halogen cooker- he doesn't need a full sized cooker on his own. It would make such a difference for him to be able to prepare hot food, especially as the weather gets colder.
Single mum with two children, surviving on minimal benefits. She desperately needs a double bed, but more importantly two chest or drawers or some storage units for the children's bedrooms. They don't mind having second hand items, and it would be lovely if we could provide these before Christmas, or at least before the New Year. It would make such a difference to this young family, and make it much easier to keep the place tidy and organised for the kids.
