A young mum has recently been housed in a social housing property and has no money spare after furnishing the property with essential items due being on benefits. Her current fridge/freezer is faulty with a broken door. This would greatly benefit the family as she would be able to buy fresh food and cook healthy meals for herself. E is pregnant so healthy eating is a priority. She will be storing her breast milk in the freezer. It would really help the young family become more settled quickly.
This young man was brought up in care. He and his partner have been trying to make a go of things financially but have faced many hurdles. He lost his job due to the Covid-19 pandemic and, until recently, his partner, who has a heart condition, was having to shield. Debts have accumulated and they came to Christians Against Poverty for help. The best solution for him would be a Debt Relief Order but they are unable to afford the £90 fee. He told me that it would be a huge relief if you could help.
A, a young, single mum of a one year old, spent much of her childhood in care and desperately wants to be the best mum possible for her little boy. She is trying to find ways to increase her low income, but with unmanageable debts left by her ex-partner, A has come to Christians Against Poverty for help. They have advised a fast track Debt Relief Order but A has no means of raising the money for this. If you are able to help A would be very grateful as she is unable to see a way forward.
J is a victim of domestic abuse and has left her partner and moved to a new property. She does not have a washing machine for herself and her daughter. She does not live near a launderette due to being in a rural area and has no transport. A washing machine would greatly help her with her laundry she is currently having to wash everything by hand. She is currently struggling emotionally and psychologically and this will help her greatly. Thank you.

The family car is due a service and MOT but it needs work completed before it will pass its MOT. They have a small amount of money put aside for the MOT but they do not have sufficient money for the work to be done. A young mum of 3 has left the father of her children following ongoing emotional and mental abuse. She has also experienced the loss of her mother and a traumatic pregnancy leading to PTSD. She is rebuilding her life and is hoping to access counselling to help her to do this. Our service have referred her for 1:1 counselling but it requires a one off payment of £80. Being able to offer this to this mum would be a big step to helping her move forward and to be the best mum she can be.
