Last year A lost his job and as a direct result his family lost their home. Their 6 year old son had just started school but they were placed all around the city in homeless accommodation. In order to keep their son in his P1 class they were taking many buses daily to get him to and from school. This was financially crippling. They have now found a private tenancy within the catchment of the school but it has no washing machine. They simply have no money to purchase one.
This man has attended our job club for people with convictions. He has done so well in getting his life on track and preparing to get back into employment. His next goal is to volunteer in a church cafe outreach so that he can get used to the discipline of a day's work and learn new skills. He struggles to make ends meet and would appreciate support in buying bus tickets to get to this volunteering placement, to continue his journey back to full employment. He is part of our Connect group in Edinburgh and has come to faith in Christ.
C has had to leave her home with very little of her belongings. She is currently in temporary accommodation awaiting a permanent place. She is trying so hard to get herself back on her feet but keeps hitting hurdles along the way. She does currently have a job on a zero hour contract but is not getting enough hours and is also doing a job which is not good for her health. She needs a more suitable full time job but doesn't have any smart clothes suitable for interviews, can you help?
