I'm Rhona, and I'm the 3rd team member of Acts 435. I was born and bred in Edinburgh, where I also went to University, but after falling in love with a Yorkshireman I moved to York in 2009 to get married and made this my home. Upon moving down I was fortunate to be offered a position working in the York Diocesan Office, the main administrative office for the Church of England in York. My role was PA to the Diocesan Secretary, the Chief Executive, and I was responsible for the HR admin- it was in this role that I first became aware of Acts 435, as the Diocesan Secretary became one of the trustees for this new and exciting charity.
Fast forward 4 years and in 2013 I left my role to have our daughter, Emma, and made the decision to become a stay at home Mummy. I was sad to leave as I loved my job, but I was excited for this new season and new role! I love being fortunate enough to be a stay at home Mummy, but in 2015 I began praying into whether there might be something I could do from home, alongside my role as a Mummy.
In May 2015 Jenny, our Executive Director, contacted me to ask if I might be interested in exploring the possibility of joining her at Acts 435! Honoured to have the opportunity to work with the charity I had been so excited about in its early days, I quickly said yes and began to work with Jenny on the Administration and Social Media side of Acts 435. In 2016 I left for 6 months to have our twins, Micah and Maisie, at which point Katie Greene joined our team, and upon my return we divided up the growing workload into our current roles fitting to our particular skills. I am the Acts 435 Administrator, and my responsibilities include monitoring our requests and thank you messages, assisting our wonderful Advocates with anything they need, signing up new Advocates and responding to new enquiries, managing the stories on the "Our Impact" page of our website and assisting Jenny with some of the (simpler) finance jobs!
I have always loved working in a role where I can make a difference to someone else's day, so you can imagine how much I love working for a charity where we are privileged to play a part in making a difference to the lives of so many people. It is a complete joy to work with a close team who I consider dear friends, and to work alongside so many wonderful Advocates- I am blown away by God's provision for me, and for my family, in answering our prayer in 2015 in such a perfect way!
