Acts 435 Giving to anyone who has need

In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Isaiah 12:4

There is much expectation this week as England enter the semi-finals (although for some this may not be exciting news!). But, it has made me pause and think about the expectation with which we come to God with our prayers, and the excitement and thanks that we share when prayers are met. As we look to the next football match this week let's be as equally, if not more, expectant, for all that God wants to do for those in need in the UK and give praise and thanks for all he has done this month too.

We're firstly thankful to God for:

  • Reaching 30,000 people helped through our work at the beginning of June!
  • Our Advocates in Newcastle who helped us to film our recent Acts 435 Sunday video. Their enthusiasm and passion for those in need was very clear, and we're thankful to be able to share this with churches.
  • A new partner charity in Glasgow, which is an area where we are keen to see more churches and charities come on board. Please continue to pray that we can reach more of Scotland.
  • The 482individuals and families who have been helped by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with£59,605 distributed in June. We're so thankful for the generosity of our donors who stepped in to help these individuals in crisis, especially as the needs on our website were increasing.

Please pray for:

  • Acts 435 Sunday which is happening this coming weekend. We pray that many of our partner churches will take the time to share our work with their congregations, and that many will be eager to know more and want to donate.
  • The interviews that are taking place this month for a new Administrative Assistant. Please pray that we find someone with the right skills who will blend well with the rest of our team.
  • Opportunities to grow our network as we join the Evangelical Alliance this month.
  • The ongoing development of our new website. Please pray for all the team, as well as our team of developers, as we collaborate together on this.
  • Our Head Office Team as we head into the summer months. Although it is often a quieter time please pray that we can all maintain the balance between running the charity smoothly and spending time with family; this is particularly important for those of us who have young families.
