Acts 435 Giving to anyone who has need

100% of any donation you give via Acts 435 goes directly to the person in need. If you let us know that we can claim Gift Aid on your donation, where does it go? Read on to find out...

Firstly, it goes towards our running costs as a charity - there are three members of paid staff (as well as hundreds of volunteer advocates), and all our other admin costs - from our website to the credit card charges each time someone donates.

This is where the story used to end, but now we've recently taken the decision to use the rest of our Gift Aid towards our Larger Gifts Fund.

Our Larger Gifts Fund has been running since October 2018 and has previously been sustained by generous donations. The fund has helped 70 people with gifts that are above our £120 limit on our website - from Bankruptcy Fees to car repairs. The administration for this fund is offline, and that is why you won't see it on our website.

After her father died L wanted to be able to help to pay for a funeral, but other family members didn't want to help, here's what the Advocate said:

This is a stressful time for L. She is 7 months pregnant and has had to deal with the death of a parent ??“ either of which being enough to cope with. She was obviously hoping that her father would see his new grandchild and that would help with some kind of reconciliation. Failing that, arranging his funeral with a service gave great peace and closure.

These larger gifts, at times of crisis, help individuals directly and make a big difference in their lives just the same as the requests on our website and is an invaluable tool for our Advocates who meet those in need every day.
