News Release reads as follows:
The Archbishop of York’s online giving charity is attempting to clear all submitted requests in its ‘children’ category between 9th and 15th November to coincide with the BBC’s annual ‘Children in Need’ appeal.
Executive Director Jenny Herrera commented “Children in Need reminds us every year of the difficulties many children face. We want to focus specifically on children in need through running this appeal and hope donors who have been fantastic in their generosity will support UK children in this direct way.”
With 3.7 million children living in poverty in the UK there is much to be done. Acts 435 works through local churches who know those in need in their communities and post requests to help them. St. Peter’s Church in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has partnered with the local Children’s Centre and been able to help more than 200 vulnerable children through Acts 435.
Father Paul Cartwright, vicar of St. Peter’s, commented: “We are so grateful for this opportunity to bring some additional support to help children in crisis in our community.”
