A Wondrous Gift

We have much to be thankful for. What a surge of generosity we have seen in the past few weeks from both current and new donors. We have been able to give many wondrous gifts this Christmas to people in need, perhaps of greatest poignancy, this request which was met in less than 24 hours:
Flights to the UK for seriously ill boy£120 needed for flights for a 14 yr old boy who has acute leukaemia and liver failure and needs to see a specialist in England asap who deals with this condition. Please help him and his mum get to see this Dr, this young man's illness has become worse and his mum is desperate to get whatever help she can. Please help give this child a chance at the gift of life and let the family know they are not standing alone in this.
Meanwhile, one of our advocates had a wonderful reminder this past week of how a gift through Acts 435 can impact someone's life. He shared with me:
I must tell you about a family who donated at the Tesco Foodbank collection on Saturday. The 3 of them brought out a number of items in their trolley and spoke to me as if I knew them. I asked them how they knew me? And they said "This is Joe who you got the Moses basket for 5 years ago, he's 5 now and we just wanted to give something back". This was our first Acts 435 request when we got involved as a charity. It was for a family expecting their baby but didn't have the means to get the items needed including a Moses basket and we posted an application for £45 and it arrived just in time for the baby Joe's arrival! It was so good to hear this positive feedback.
Well we were delighted to hear this too and it gave us a real boost, especially as we celebrate our 5 year anniversary.
In this mailshot I often highlight a few requests but let me just encourage you to take a look for yourself and see who you might be able to give #anothergift to this Christmashttp://www.acts435.org.uk/give. I have my tree up and love turning the lights on - let's not forget some cannot even afford to have their electricity on for the basic things.
We are now publishing monthly statistics (http://acts435.org.uk/statistics) - November's have provided more reason to rejoice:Monthly Spotlight: November 2015
