£200 needed for a washing machine
A is a young single mum, with poor English, who has two school-aged children. Her mother is unwell and has returned to Portugal to be cared for by relatives, and her father died when she was a teenager. A relies on benefits, struggling alone to pay basic bills and has nothing spare to pay for emergencies. She is housed in damp accommodation which is detrimental to her health, and the landlord is unhelpful, refusing to make repairs or replace the broken washing machine. Please can you help?
£200 needed for a repair cost debt
AM is a single mother living in council housing. Her young son has ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and, due to his condition, has caused some damage to the council property. AM's housing provider has invoiced her for the cost of the repairs and as she is on benefits, she doesn't have the funds to pay for it. Mum needs to be able to settle this invoice so she can continue to live in the property.
£200 needed for a washing machine
L is a forty four year old single mum of one small child. Her washing machine is on its last legs and she needs to use it frequently with having a toddler in the house. L receives Universal Credit, but this doesn't go far enough to replace her existing washing machine. We have looked at local authority grants, but L doesn't qualify at present. We would be really grateful for any help for this lady.
£200 needed for a living room carpet
P, who has just moved into her first home, following a family breakdown, has sourced a number of essential items herself, but has not been able to afford a living room carpet. P is a young, vulnerable, single lady who has no family support, and also suffers with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Please can you help her?
£100 needed for food and groceries, clothing and bedding
JA is a vulnerable single parent with a one year old child. Risking losing everything, she is currently battling with unstable accommodation and struggling to afford basic household items, such as bedding. JA is in desperate need of food and groceries, basic clothing items for her child, and bedding.
£200 needed for a cooker
Our client is a single man who had to move properties when his mum died. He is on benefits and doesn't have the money for a cooker and, until now, has just used a microwave. Our client is recuperating from a serious accident and would like to be able to have healthier meals. Please can you support with this donation as it would be really helpful if he could have a cooker?
£185 needed for a cooker
This man is disabled and receives Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit. He was reunited with his daughter, who is now sixteen, after a traumatic family event. They had been in temporary accommodation for eighteen months, but now have a permanent home which they are building into a home slowly, but have no cooker. Please can you help?
£200 needed for a sofa
E has recently had to move out of a housing association property that was unsafe to live in. There was a huge hole in the roof where the rain would come straight in, and the heating did not work. The local church managed to help get them rehoused in a small private rented flat. The flat had a sofa in when E moved in, but it is too big and heavy for her small flat. Our client is off work and currently being supported by Christians Against Poverty, so has no funds for a replacement.
£150 needed for food vouchers
M is married with three children and, due to ill health, is unable to work, so is only in receipt of benefits. These do not fully cover the cost of living, and buying food and essentials for himself and his family. Dad has to make payments for a debt which, if he does not keep up payments, may cost him and his family their home. Having a voucher for food will help towards alleviating some of the stress he is under, and give him time to make adjustments to his debt repayment.
