£0 remaining for a microwave, vacuum cleaner, cutlery and crockery
Safe Families are supporting an Iranian refugee who arrived in the UK in the summer 2023, with his twelve year old son. They have recently been rehoused and do not have a vacuum cleaner, microwave or all of the kitchen equipment that they need, such as cutlery and crockery. The family is on a low income and does not have the finances to equip the home. We would love to provide them with a voucher so dad can prioritise his and his son’s requirements, and purchase some items for their new home.
We met R in prison after he found himself in custody for a first, one-off offence. He has worked all his life but, on release from prison, he had no access to his personal belongings, including his ID. He is motivated to get back into work and rebuild his life. R needs a birth certificate for his right-to-work documents but, due to having no money, he can not afford to buy one himself. Please can you help R to cover the costs for his ID so he can get work?
W is an ex-offender who we have been supporting to get into work after being unemployed for some time. We have secured him a job but, due to starting just after pay day, he will have to wait two weeks to get his first pay packet. W needs £40 to fill up his car so he can get to work until he is paid. Please can you help us cover the travel costs for him?
Our client, who is dealing with severe mental health issues, has moved from temporary accommodation into a more permanent home to start regaining some independence. They are currently suffering from financial hardship and are in need of a washing machine to wash their clothes, as well as a cooker to be able to make hot meals at home. These items will improve their overall mental wellbeing and independence in their new home.
