Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

My client has been in supported housing for over three years after suffering with mental health issues. He has now been allocated a flat and is looking for work. My client has very little in the house and can't afford the items that he needs immediately, such as cutlery, crockery and three pairs of curtains. Please can you help with his fresh start?

Total needed £150We have been helping our client with support as he had got in with the wrong crowd after his partner suddenly died. He is wanting to make a fresh start and so we are helping him to move to accommodation out of the area. He has a lot of belonging so we need to use a removal firm at a cost of £150.

Total needed £150This family of four, who are refugees from Afghanistan, have been in the UK for several months. Mum is suffering from the trauma of Afghan regime political abuse and is reticent to seek help. The family clearly needs weather suitable clothes and shoes. We have provided most of the clothes they need, but need to purchase shoes and wellingtons for the children. Your support would help in a practical way, but also, importantly, show mum that she can trust strangers.

Total needed £100D has been living in shared/supported accommodation for many years, but has recently managed to secure full-time employment in the catering industry (he is a qualified chef). Due to living in supported accommodation, he can only work sixteen hours a week or he will be evicted. D has been able to obtain a one bedroom flat which he will move into on the 26th May. It is partially furnished, but does not have a bed or a wardrobe. Please could we request donations to obtain a bed, mattress and a wardrobe for him?

Total needed £200We are asking for your help to purchase carpets and curtains for the children's bedroom in our client's new accommodation that he has moved into with his two young daughters. He would love to have his daughters' bedroom set up with carpet and curtains. This will help to make the accommodation feel more homely for his daughters.

Total needed £200This gentleman, who has severe mental health issues, is a diabetic and has celiac disease, is claiming Universal Credit. He has recently been released from hospital, following a five week stay after falling into a diabetic coma. The flat he lives in had to be broken into and, due to having issues with hoarding, the council removed and destroyed some of his furniture, household items, bedding and clothes. This gentleman is due to return home very soon, but doesn't have money to replace everything. Please can you help him to replace his bed and sofa? Thank you.

Total needed £200Safe Families are currently supporting this mum of five children who has been separated from her children, due to poor home conditions. Mum has worked hard to declutter the home and they, hopefully, will be able to return home soon. One final piece of the puzzle is that mum is in need of a living room carpet to allow her children to play safely. She doesn't work and this isn't something she is able to afford on her own. Safe Families would love to bless this family with a carpet and help them get home.

Total needed £200L is a mother of three children under the age of eight. She was renting privately, but the landlord evicted them to sell the property. After living in temporary accommodation for a year, mum has been given a council house, but it has no flooring. The floor in the living room has nails and staples sticking out of it so they all wear shoes inside. L would love to put safe flooring down so her children can play indoors. Laminate will cost £260 and she has saved up £60 so far from the benefits she receives.
