Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This single mum, who lives in a two bedroom flat with her daughter, is on minimum income. Her electric cooker has come to the end of its life and mum is finding it increasingly difficult to cook. Ready prepared meals are expensive because she only has the use of a microwave. £200 would allow her to purchase a new cooker. Mum is a good cook and enjoys cooking but, without a working cooker, is finding this difficult.
Still £110 left to donate
Total needed £200Unfortunately, S was a victim of crime and, as such, has no funds for another four weeks when his next benefit payment comes through. His Support Officer has asked for our help because they have tried to access a benefit advance to help him out, but he is not eligible. This money is to ensure that S has funds to buy his food for the next four weeks, alongside some support from ourselves, particularly because he has limited cooking facilities.
Still £100 left to donate
Total needed £100This single parent and her family were away from home for a couple of days and a flood at their neighbour's house affected their property. The electricity had gone off and they have come back to all the contents of their fridge and freezer ruined. As well as the food, some other items in the house, such as the carpets, have also been damaged but, for now, they really need to replace their food. In the meantime they are being supported by us.
